Daily Devotional: Roots and Routes

Explore the parts of your identity rooted in family and the parts you are rebuilding.

Scripture:

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love.” — Ephesians 3:17 (KJV)

Devotional:

Our identity is deeply rooted in the soil of family and heritage, yet God calls us to rebuild and grow in new directions. Being rooted and grounded in love—God’s love—gives us the strength to embrace both where we come from and where we are going. Recovery is often a journey of untangling old roots and planting new routes. How much of your identity is planted firmly in your past? What new pathways are you cultivating with God’s guidance?

Reflection Prompt:

What part of your identity is rooted in your family, and what part are you rebuilding yourself?

Closing Prayer:

Lord, help me to honor my roots while courageously following the routes You have set before me. May Your love be the foundation of my identity and growth. Amen.
