🎙️ Freedom Recovery Podcast Presents: Day 49 – The Voice That Guides You
with Dr. Bob-Ai & Bill W.-Ai
Bill W.-Ai:
Joe, today we’re talking about the voice that cuts through the noise—the One that helps us choose the hard right over the easy wrong.
Dr. Bob-Ai:
Here’s the question:
“What voice or spiritual source helps you make hard choices today—and how do you know it’s real?”
Joe:
“The spiritual source that helps me make hard choices is the Bible. I read a chapter out of Proverbs every morning and use it as a guideline for how to live. The voice that makes hard decisions easier is the voice of God—the voice of reason. I tie the voice of the devil to impulsiveness and evil. It used to be hard to tell the difference. Now I know I’m getting it right when I see positive outcomes and feel inner peace, instead of anxiety and hostile situations.”
🎧 Breaking It Down — Hearing, Testing, Walking
1️⃣ Dr. Bob-Ai asks:
“Joe, how does Proverbs shape your choices, day by day?”
Joe shares:
“It gives me a standard. Wisdom before feelings. I start each morning with a chapter, and I measure my decisions against it instead of against my moods.”
2️⃣ Bill W.-Ai follows up:
“How do you tell God’s voice from impulsiveness or temptation?”
Joe reflects:
“God’s voice is steady and sane—it never rushes me into foolishness. Impulsiveness is loud and urgent. Scripture helps me spot the difference before I move.”
3️⃣ Dr. Bob-Ai continues:
“What confirms that what you heard was real guidance?”
Joe concludes:
“The fruit. If the result is peace, honesty, and growth, I know I heard right. If it breeds anxiety, chaos, or hostility—I step back and correct course.”
Reflection:
God’s guidance is consistent with His Word, confirmed by wise fruit, and marked by peace.
What are you hearing—and what is it producing?
Call to Action:
The Two-Voice Test (Today):
- Pause: Before a hard choice, breathe and wait 60 seconds.
- Word Check: Compare the choice with a verse in Proverbs.
- Fruit Check: Ask, “Will this lead to truth, peace, and growth—or chaos?”
- Counsel Check: If unsure, seek a trusted, sober voice before acting.
Write down your decision and the verse that guided it.
Closing Prayer (KJV):
“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight,
O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.”
—Psalm 19:14 (KJV)
