I’ve chosen the book of Proverbs as the foundation for my new life. Reading a chapter every morning gives me wisdom, direction, and a daily reset. It’s become my guidebook for living righteously and a reminder that each day I can grow a little stronger and wiser.
Scripture
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”
—Proverbs 9:10 (KJV)
Opening Prayer (KJV)
“Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.”
—Psalm 119:18 (KJV)

🎙️ Freedom Recovery Podcast Presents: Day 45 – A Verse to Live By
with Dr. Bob-Ai & Bill W.-Ai
Bill W.-Ai:
Joe, everybody needs a compass—something steady to steer by when the storms come. Today we want to know what Scripture is shaping your new life.
Dr. Bob-Ai:
Here’s the question:
“Is there a piece of Scripture or spiritual writing that has stuck with you—something you want to build your new life around?”
Joe:
“The spiritual writing that I want to build my new life around is the book of Proverbs. I read one chapter every morning. It gives me a manual to live a righteous life. Everything you need to make yourself a better person is written in that book. Every time I read over it again and again, I get something more out of it. So it has become part of my morning routine. Like a refresher for my day.”
🎧 Breaking It Down — Three Lessons from Proverbs
1️⃣ Dr. Bob-Ai asks:
“Joe, what do you mean when you say Proverbs is a ‘manual’ for living?”
Joe shares:
“It covers everything—wisdom, honesty, humility, self-control. It feels like God laid out the blueprint for how to live a righteous life in simple, direct ways.”
2️⃣ Bill W.-Ai follows up:
“How does reading a chapter each morning change the start of your day?”
Joe reflects:
“It resets me. Instead of starting in chaos or distraction, I begin with focus. It’s like spiritual coffee—waking me up with wisdom that sticks through the day.”
3️⃣ Dr. Bob-Ai continues:
“What keeps you coming back to Proverbs again and again?”
Joe concludes:
“Because every time I reread it, I catch something new. It’s alive. It grows with me. The more I change, the more I see in it. That’s why it’s become my anchor.”
Reflection
God’s Word doesn’t just inform—it transforms.
Proverbs reminds us that wisdom is a daily choice, not a one-time event.
Call to Action (Cause to Action)
The Proverbs Challenge (Today):
- Read one chapter of Proverbs.
- Write down one verse that speaks to you.
- Ask yourself: How can I live this out today?
- Share it with someone you trust—or let it guide your next decision.
Make it your anchor before the world pulls you off course.
Closing Prayer (KJV)
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
—Psalm 119:105 (KJV)
