Day 59 explores the tone of your inner voice. Joe shares how his internal dialogue has shifted from negativity to spiritual encouragement.
Scripture:
“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”
—Proverbs 15:1 (KJV)
Opening Prayer:
Father God, help me to tune in to the voice that reflects Your truth and not my past failures.
Let my thoughts be renewed, my heart softened, and my words filled with grace.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

🎙️ Freedom Recovery Podcast Presents: Day 59 – Your Inner Voice
with Dr. Bob & Bill W.
Bill W.:
Hey there, Joe. Let’s get honest for a second. We all carry a voice inside that talks louder than anyone else sometimes. Today we want to know…
“What does your inner voice sound like lately? Is it harsh, honest, forgiving, encouraging? Where do you think that shift came from?”
Joe:
“The inner voice I hear these days is more encouraging, positive and honest. I’ve had time to learn a lot about myself and get in touch with my spiritual side. Once that happened, the positive encouragement comes so naturally.”
🎧 Breaking It Down – Three Insights into Joe’s Inner Voice
1️⃣ Dr. Bob leans in:
“Joe, you said it’s more encouraging now. What changed to make that possible?”
Joe responds:
“I started to see value in myself. I stopped believing the worst about who I was and started accepting who I’m becoming.”
2️⃣ Bill W. asks:
“What role has honesty played in this shift?”
Joe shares:
“Being honest with myself wasn’t easy. But the more truth I faced, the less power shame had. Now, that voice doesn’t beat me up—it checks me, but with kindness.”
3️⃣ Dr. Bob follows up:
“You mentioned your spiritual side—how did that impact your inner voice?”
Joe says:
“Getting in touch with God changed everything. Once I felt His love, my inner voice started to sound more like grace and less like guilt.”
Reflection:
Your inner voice can be your biggest ally or worst enemy.
Is it building you up or breaking you down?
Call to Action:
Take a few minutes today to write down what your inner voice said to you this morning.
- Was it kind?
- Was it truthful?
- Would you say those words to someone you love?
If not, change the script. Replace every harsh word with one grounded in love and recovery.
Closing Prayer:
“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.”
—Psalm 19:14 (KJV)
